We found keeping the blog up to date too time consuming and felt it was detracting from the trip. What we wrote is below but it's nowhere near a comprehensive run-down. Credit and appreciation to everyone who regularly blogs and posts while travelling, it's a huge undertaking.

How did we get here?

Back in early 2017 Tom floated the idea of travelling across Africa overland and became obsessed with the idea. Eventually Kim proposed an ultimatum: stop talking about it or do it.

Soon after we were downsizing, living under a strict budget, and from July 2017 onward spending every evening and weekend working on building our vehicle. Fourteen months later we quit our jobs, hipped our truck to Namibia, sold most everything we owned, and hopped on a plane.

We built this website to help and inspire others to embark on similar adventures and to allow our friends and families to keep up to date with our movements. If you send us an email, we will respond.
